Activities

With 17 faculty members (including 6 full professors, 7 associate professors and 4 assistant professors) and having graduate programs (7 Master's and 4 PhD majors), this department is one of the largest and most active departments of the university of Tehran. More than 100 research programs have so far been accomplished in this department. Articles presented by members in scholarly journals, national or international conferences exceed 1000 in number. The department members have published more than 60 books nationally and internationally. This department cooperates with various companies in the fields of watershed management, rangeland management and combating desertification in order to meet their executive requirements. Some of this department's professors have been recognized as highly authoring books and articles in the Islamic world and among the world's top scientists for several years.

The engineering department of arid and mountainous regions reclamation was recognized as the scientific axis of sustainable watershed management by Ministry of Science, Research and Technology in 2005 and it is currently the country's source of reference in the fields of range management, watershed management, and combat desertification.
